NEWS
MEETINGS
Meetings of Chapter 798 will be held at the American Legion Post #2 for the near future. The Post needs help keeping the bar open, so any help you can give by buying food or drink would be appreciated. The meetings are: Board of Directors meeting is on the third Thursday of every month at 1900 hrs. The regular meeting will be held immediately after the Board meeting at 1930 hrs. We hope to see you there.
GUN SHOW
The next Gun Show will be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We will need people to help sell raffle tickets for a Henry "Big Boy" Octagon Barrel .44 Rifle. This rifle was at last gun show but we didn't get the minimum of 200 tickets, so we will continue this at the December Gun Show plus other weapons not decided upon yet. This is an easy way to make funds for our organization. All you have to do is stand there and offer the public a chance on the rifles. This rifle is a work of art and will sell itself. Please contact Ben to volunteer. Even a couple of hours will help out others who will be there all the time to have a break. Each VSO's work hours are kept track of and the disbursement of funds is equal to the number of hours each VSO worked.
OPERATION BARNABAS
Could you send an email out to all the VVA members urging them to attend the dinner at the Legion on Fri. 22nd. This is a fund raiser for the Legion sponsored by Operation Barnabas that I am a member of. Our group is paying all the expenses, and all the income goes to the Legion. It is $ 8 per meal. We are serving roast pork, baked potato, BBQ green beans, corn, salad, and cake for dessert. I'm sure every one will get their money's worth. I'd like to get a hundred people there. I'm pretty well restricted in what I can do. I do plan to be at the dinner. Thanks, Vern
